Bandits Kill FUDMA Lecturer, Abduct His Children in KatsinaBy Uthman Oriyomi

In a tragic incident, bandits killed Dr. Tiri Gyan David, a lecturer at the Federal University Dutsinma (FUDMA) in Katsina State, early Tuesday morning.

Dr. David, who headed the Department of Agricultural Economics, Extension, and Rural Development, was attacked at his residence in Yarima Quarters, Low-Cost Estate, Dutsinma Local Government Area.

An eyewitness reported that the attack occurred around 1:30 am.

The assailants, armed with sophisticated weapons, invaded the community, firing sporadically to instill fear among residents.

During the attack, the bandits also abducted two of Dr. David’s children.

Abubakar Sadiq, the spokesman for the Katsina Police Command, confirmed the incident and stated that a detailed statement would be released soon.

Dutsinma, one of the ten security frontline local government areas in Katsina State, has been frequently targeted by bandit attacks despite ongoing efforts by the state government and security agencies to restore peace.
