Omoniyi Temidayo Raphael, popularly known as Zlatan Ibile, has taken a trip down memory lane, reflecting on his remarkable journey from aspiring footballer to music sensation.
In a heartfelt social media post, Zlatan expressed his gratitude to the students of Moshood Abiola Polytechnic (Mapoly) who believed in him and supported his dreams a decade ago.
It was in 2013 that Zlatan, then a young footballer, participated in a talent contest organized by the polytechnic.
The contest, judged by notable figures in the entertainment industry, including Reminisce, DJ Kentalky,saw Zlatan emerge victorious. This milestone marked a significant turning point in his life, as he began to focus more on music.
“10 years ago, there was no Zlatan Ibile. All there was, was an aspiring footballer. Mapoly students believed in me by ensuring I won this contest! From then, everything changed from football to music. I did not have 2 personal songs let alone a hit until 2017 with Baddo,” Zlatan wrote in his post.
He continued, “Thank you to every Mapoly student who stood by me. Thank you to DJ Humility, DJ Kentalky,for seeing potential in me. Thank you Day 1 Zlatanovaz. Can’t believe today makes it exactly 10 years already.. And we’re still going strong.”
