The annual ‘Oro’ festival in Ikorodu, Lagos State, has been scheduled for May 16, 2024, with both day and night events.
In a letter to the Medical Director of Ikorodu General Hospital, the Ayangburen of Ikorodu, Oba Kabiru Shotobi, notified the hospital of the upcoming festival and reminded them of the traditional rules.
According to custom, all females are required to stay at home and avoid moving around the town during the festival.
The hospital, located within the Oro traditional jurisdiction, has been advised to adhere to these traditions.
The letter, dated April 16, 2024, was titled ‘Notification of Magbo (Oro) Festival 2024’ and was signed by the Ayangburen of Ikorodu, Oba Kabiru Shotobi.
